"My first set of turntables came to me when a friend was in need of some money to move to California. I received two Tech's and a crappy Gemini Mixer and twelve random House records for $600!" It took a few years for DJY5 to find his groove in the record of life, but after a while, Dj'ing started making sense. "When I listen to my early recordings I can see that I was all over the place within the different genres of dance music. But then my record collection grew and specific styles were becoming more apparent." For a few years DJY5 spun Tribal House and House music. "I loved the organic feel of Tribal House and the consistency of House music. But as I began playing outside of my house I noticed that general public, at least in WI, weren't getting into it. So I began listening to some new styles and found my new love. BreakBeat and Electro House."
